OCLA certifies 17 counties as prepared to launch first-in-nation "Right to Counsel" defense program

The Washington State Office of Civil Legal Aid announced yesterday that the first 17 counties have been certified for the "Right to Counsel" defense program! This first-in-nation program will appoint OCLA-funded attorneys to represent low-income tenants facing eviction. OCLA anticipates that all counties will be certified and RTC appointments commenced by November 15, 2021.
