Dementia Legal Planning

For attorneys

The Dementia Legal Planning Project’s training video features Professor Lisa Brodoff from Seattle University and Michael Terasaki from the WA Pro Bono Council! After watching this training, attorneys will be prepared to competently volunteer with clients from around the state through the Dementia Legal Planning Project in brief, one-hour sessions. We cover forms for power of attorney for finances and health care, health care directives, and the dementia directive form.

About our speaker: Lisa Brodoff is a professor at Seattle University whose areas of expertise include elder law, end-of-life and disability planning, and public benefits. Professor Brodoff was instrumental in the passage of legislation in Washington State creating the Alzheimer's/Dementia Mental Health Advance Directive. She is an expert at helping those who want to plan for critical decisions to be made during the long course of their lives.
